ABOUT 12TH WORLD ZAKAT & WAQF FORUM INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

The World Zakat & Waqf Forum, which was formed on 30 September 2010, now has 40 members states. This is an annual programme that gathers academic figures, Shariah advisers, and Islamic finance industry practitioners from all around the world on one platform to discuss relevant and pertinent Zakat And Waqf issues on Islamic Social finance. Last conference was held in Leeds, London, United Kingdom.

Zakat and waqf can play important roles in achieving sustainable global food security. They can be used to support sustainable food production and distribution initiatives, as well as to provide assistance to vulnerable communities.

One potential application of zakat and waqf towards sustainable global food security is to support small-scale farmers and agricultural cooperatives in developing countries. Many farmers in these regions lack access to the resources they need to produce food sustainably, such as high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and irrigation systems. Zakat and waqf funds can be used to provide these farmers with the resources they need to grow crops more efficiently, increasing their yields and helping to feed their communities.

Overall, zakat and waqf have the potential to play important roles in achieving sustainable global food security. By supporting sustainable food production and distribution initiatives, as well as providing assistance to vulnerable communities, these forms of charitable giving can help to address the root causes of food insecurity and build more resilient food systems.

Hence, this year, the Conference will be held in Kedah, MALAYSIA which famous with Large Scale Smart Paddy Field (Smart SBB) and theme for World Zakat and Waqf focus to sustainable global food security. All agencies welcome to join and contribute the idea and built relationship among each other to cater this issue. We sure, this platform can be as stage for discussion and future implementation.

This event usually attracts over 500 participants from diverse fields including technical operations, business, and policymaking, who come together to exchange knowledge, share their experiences, and enhance the global development of zakat and waqf agenda.
